The Raptor Trust
I interned at The Raptor Trust during the summer of 2010. My duties included feeding and handling nestling, fledgling, and adult songbirds and waterfowl. I was taught how to remove gulls and geese from their cages and how to hold them securely for medication and tube feeding. In addition, I performed fecal analyses and prepared special formulated diets for various life stages and species of birds. I communicated to the public the techniques for handling an injured/orphaned bird and provided advice on bird rehabilitation.
